I love cloches, have several in my house, I am always on the hunt for different little treasures to fill each one up. So we had fun one day coming up with "love" themes for Valentine's Day. Boy, was it nice to have a whole store to choose from! And I just wanted to share with you what we came up with.

I know it's not even Thanksgiving yet, and we definitely don't want to make time go by faster, ( you realize these facts after you reach a certain age) but we want to think ahead a little and invite you to our Chistmas Open House on Dec 2 , 2011. We are going to eat, drink and shop! And do a little crafting. Here is the schedule of events:

Secrets to a long happy marriage

We were enjoying visting with a customer who had been married for 62 years...she was so sweet and you could just see the affection she had for her husband. It made me think of this joke.

An old women was sipping on a glass of wine, while sitting on the patio with her husband, she says " I love you so much, I don't know how I could ever live without you"...
Her husband asks, " Is that you or the wine talking?"...
She replies, "It's me...talking to the wine."

Owner of many hats

Being a proprietor of a business is an interesting undertaking. Each day allows me a different hat to wear.
Last week I wore a contractors hat, a demolition hat, a painters hat. A new look behind the counter was the result of the putting on and taking off of these hats.
Today I get to wear the decorator hat as we transformed a blank canvas into a rather lovely, calming attraction.

Hmmm...I wonder which hat I get to wear tomorrow. Stay tuned.

I know we live in Oregon and it rains here, but it's mid-July and it feels & looks like a rainy spring month!

Inside Aunt Bee's House, it's SUMMER! We have some fantastic new treasurers for you to purchase. Furniture continues to be a big seller. Our vendors are so creative .... making lots of fabulous creations from aprons to jewelry to yard art.

Let's see, we are experiencing the 2nd wettest spring in 117 years. Well, it's a good thing summer starts tomorrow because ABH has so many great yard and porch treasures that need to get out in the sun!

If you haven't been in lately, be sure to stop by this Sunday for our PARKING LOT SALE from 9 AM to 5 PM. Our vendors have been busy creating and collecting fun things for you to add to your home. Inside the store, we will also have sales in various areas.

July 4 is rapidly approaching. We have such fun decorations and such for this holiday. We sold 5 sparkling hats in red/white/blue this morning! The biggest hat was for Grandpa!

Today, Belinda had a hankerin' to paint. So she did. Behind the front counter it has gone from yellow to light green. This is all in preparation for the other new counter coming. The staff is happy about this upcoming change.

I cannot believe it is November 18 already. Thanksgiving is next week! Hopefully, there will be enough turkeys at the store by the time I get there. What's Thanksgiving without a yummy turkey?

Our vendors at ABH are busy bees getting ready for the holidays as well. We had a great decorating party/potluck earlier in the month. Everyone is so excited for the upcoming season.

Events to Attend

November 26 is the Black Friday Event with our neighbor Stampin' Cat. You need to drop by both stores and join in the fun.

November 26 to December 3 is our "Trees for Charity" fundraiser for Marion-Polk Food Share". Many of our vendors are decorating trees to be purchased. All funds will go the Food Share. The trees will be displayed in the front window. Be sure to vote for your favorite as well.

December 3 is our Holiday Open House. We invite you to join us on from 10 AM to 8 PM for a festive party! If you wear a Christmas sweater, you will receive a free gift. Take part in the Make & Take of Holiday Nosegays from 11 AM to 2 PM. It will be a full day filled with laughter, food and sales.
